Initial Injury Consultation
from £50
During a Sports Therapy & Injury Rehabilitation appointment, the Clinician will perform a subjective and objective assessment, and possibly a short gait analysis.
During this time, the Clinician will determine what types of pain and discomforts you are experiencing, what factors make it worse, and the length of time you have had your pain. The Clinician will then look at your posture and biomechanics and perform some simple movements and tests, establishing where and when you are restricted and where and when you are in pain. During this time the therapist will be considering your bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves and fascia.
Once a diagnosis has been made and your aims of treatment have been established, you will receive your treatment. It is very important at Injury Mechanics that we establish a correct diagnosis and treatment plan for our clients in order to bring about the best quality of treatment for you. |~| (55 mins)
Follow Up Appointment
from £45
Following your Initial Injury Consultation we offer a follow up appointment to monitor your progress, manage your rehabilitation program and continue more in-depth and specific treatment.
Treatments may include mobilisations of the peripheral and spinal joints, massage therapy, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, acupuncture and taping. Injury Mechanics always ensures the client is happy and comfortable with their treatment at all times.
If necessary, clients may also receive a structured strength and conditioning program to complement and effectively speed up their recovery. |~| (50 mins)
Sports Massage
from £45
A Sports Massage appointment is only advisable for those that have a general and recent feeling of fatigue such as tight calves or shoulders. We advise focusing on a specific region in a treatment session to allow a change in muscle tone to occur. It is not realistic to be able to work on the full body in such a short amount of time. We generally advise those with longer-standing discomfort of longer than 4 weeks to book a Sports Therapy & Injury Rehabilitation appointment.
This appointment will also involve Sports Massage treatment, but the Therapist will look at the causes of injury and pain and design an appropriate strengthening program to ensure the discomfort does not return.
Techniques used during your Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy treatment may include:
Soft Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage
Myofascial Release
Cupping Therapy
Muscle Energy Techniques
Stretching
