Deep Tissue Release Massage/Deep Tissue/Lymphatic Drainage

Deep Tissue Release is similar to a deep tissue or lymphatic drainage massage, this massage uses deep sustained touch to release muscle fibres and knots. A combination of deep release, deep tissue work and lymphatic drainage methods are used to compliment the Deep Tissue Release method. |~| (1 hr)

Fire Cupping or Suction Cupping.

Fire cupping is great for stimulating healing in the meridians and for muscle and joint injuries. It is not painful but can leave large circular purple/red marks on the skin. This is a sign that a good amount of blood has been pulled through the tissues to stimulate healing. I can reduce the markings a lot with massage to disperse the mark straight after cupping but that does reduce the efficacy of the treatment. If you don’t fancy the flaming wand or the warmth you can choose suction cupping instead. |~| (30 mins)

Thai Hot Herbal Compress Massage

A nice alternative to a hot stone massage. This massage utilises balls of steaming herbs. Ginger, turmeric, lemongrass, lime, ylang ylang (and may more) fragrant herbs are tied up in a ball which is steamed and then applied to the skin in a rhythmic, calming massage. Reflexology

Thai massage

Thai massage is very similar to Shiatsu in that it follows meridian lines which in Thai are called Sen lines. It can be given though clothes or as an oil on skin massage. Thai is a very dynamic, strong massage are a lot of limb stretches intended to release energy in the body and encourage relaxation. |~| (1 hr)

Shiatsu

Based on the same principles as Acupuncture (but without the needles!). This massage is fully clothed and the therapist works through clothing. It is not an oil on skin massage. Pressure is applied with hands, fingers, thumbs, arms, elbows and sometimes feet. It can also involve, stretches, joint rotations and various traditional massage techniques such as chopping, pummelling and vibration.
