Shave Shave at least 24 hours before your appointment so your pores can close and your tan won't be streaky. Shaving after your tan can make it look blotchy and fade faster. Moisturize Moisturize your skin right before your tan. Smoother skin helps the tan look better. Avoid makeup and deodorant Don't wear makeup, deodorant, body oils, perfume, or other skin additives on the day of your tan.
